EyeROV TUNA

Imaging Sonar is a category of sonar systems that are used to efficiently create an image of the seafloor or underwater objects. Imaging sonars transmit sound pulses and convert the returning echoes into digital images. A general-purpose Imaging sonar rated for 300m depth of operation offering up to 120-meter range capability for navigation and high-resolution imagery for near field target identification.

Side-scan sonar uses acoustic transducers that emi fan-shaped pulses down toward the seafloor across a wide angle perpendicular to the path of the sensor through the water to create an acoustic image of the seafloor or underwater objects. Side-scan sonar transducers may be mounted on the ROV's payload tray. The intensity of the acoustic reflections from the seafloor of this fan-shaped beam is recorded and stitched together along the direction of motion, forming an image of the sea bottom within the swath or slant range of the beam. The sound frequencies used in the side-scan sonar usually range from 100 kHz to 1 MHZ

Laser Scalars can be used with ROVs to provide a visual reference over video footage of a known distance. Trying to perform this operation with a ruler over your monitor and calculate the size of the items you wish to measure can be tedious and precision will be marginal at best. The Laser scalar allows end-users the possibility to scale items in the video picture to retrieve their approximate size.

The gripper has jaws that open to grab objects. The plastic jaws are mounted with custom aluminium screws to create a corrosion-resistant mechanism that doesn't need any lubrication. The jaws are driven by a linear actuator that uses a geared brushed motor and leads screw. The jaw movement and its grabbing action can be accurately controlled

A single beam echo sounder can be used as an altimeter for ROVS and other underwater distance measurement applications. A general altimeter operates by using a piezoelectric transducer to send an ultrasonic acoustic pulse into the water and then listens back for echoes to return. The time taken by the echo signals to return back to the transducer is used for depth calculations.

The DVL is designed with ROVs for professional navigation features. The DVL estimates velocity relative to the sea bottom by sending acoustic waves from the four angled transducers and then measures the frequency shift (doppler effect) from the received echo. By combining the measurements of all four transducers and the time between each acoustic pulse, it is possible to very accurately estimate the speed and direction of movement.

Profiling Sonar is the ideal sonar equipment for measuring the ovality and other related information in submerged pipes, tunnels and structures. This can be used for inner wall inspections and monitoring activities. This sonar can be integrated into all ROVs.
